Using Avid's Media Tool

The Avid edit system records, stores, and manages Omf media in a folder (directory) with a special name - "OMFI MediaFiles". See Avid's OMFI MediaFiles Folder.

To load new Omf media files to your project, select Media Tool  from the Tool menu. The Media Tool Display window appears.

Select the Media Drive where your new Omf media files are located.

Select the current Project

Be sure the check button is selected. In this case, "Precompute Clips" and "Media Files" are also selected.

Hit OK. The Media Tool window will appear. It may be in "Brief" mode, like this -

You may find it helpful to use the "text" display. Select the Text tab to switch to Text -

Select the "hamburger" menu, and Headings -

Select the headings your prefer. You may find it helpful to include the "Creation Date" heading, as this will help you find the latest created clips and media files, which are likely to be your new Omf files from BullsEye.

The clip icon indicates the clip made up of its media files.

Drag the clip icon into your active Bin to load the clip into your project.
